Welcome to the beta test for Jasper and the City of Lights. This Privacy Policy explains how Rivers and Wine Studios GmbH (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects the personal information you provide when you sign up for our beta test.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. As we are based in Germany, our data processing practices are governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We collect the following information directly from you through our beta registration form:
Required Information:
- Name or Preferred Alias: To personalize our communications with you.
- Email Address: To contact you regarding the beta test.
- Confirmation of Agreements and Age: To confirm you agree to our terms and are legally old enough to participate.
Optional Information:
- Discord Handle: If you choose to provide it, for an invitation to our private Discord server.
- Favorite Games: If you choose to provide it, to help us understand your player profile.
We do not collect any sensitive personal data (e.g., health, ethnic origin, or political opinions).
4. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing Your Data
We process your data for specific purposes and only when we have a legal basis to do so. The legal basis for all data collected in this form is your Consent, which you provide by ticking the checkbox and submitting the form (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

5. Data Storage and Retention
We will store your personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Your personal data will be retained for the duration of the beta testing period. After the beta test has officially concluded and all feedback has been analyzed, we will securely and permanently delete all personal data collected through this form within 6 months.
If you wish for your data to be deleted sooner, you may request its erasure at any time (see Section 8).
6. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processors
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties.
We use trusted third-party services (“Data Processors”) to help us operate our beta test. These processors are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it for the purposes we specify. Our current processors include:
- Microsoft: We use Microsoft Forms to host our registration form and collect your responses. Your data will be stored on Microsoft’s servers.
7. International Data Transfers
Some of our data processors (like Microsoft) may be based outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), primarily in the United States. When we transfer your data to these countries, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with GDPR requirements. This is typically achieved through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
8. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): You can request that we delete your personal data from our systems.
